Is it worth investing time and money into Social media? This question has been kicked around since Facebook exploded and the answer still remains an astounding YES! Social media marketing is a great tool, but let’s be honest, it's not the only tool in the box. You still need to focus on Branding, Transactional marketing, SEO, Organic marketing, Word-of-mouth etc. That being said, if you do not have an active social media presence then it’s time to admit, this “Social” thing is not a fad.

For those who have missed the Social media juggernaut, here is a list of the most popular:

Facebook Instagram Twitter Pinterest YouTube LinkedIn Tumblr Snapchat

Still a disbeliever? There are plenty of companies that provide analytical data and content that covers its feasibility. Overall, the consensus is, Social media does work but, like everything in life, you have to work it. In fact, the number of businesses using social media has increased, year over year but the return on investment (ROI) of social media is a challenge as it is still hard to measure.

Since Facebook crawled into our bedrooms, it has dominated the social media market and, good or bad, most of our lives. It has reached over a staggering 2.07 billion users, (as of Q3 2017) and that is one truly extraordinary networking platform. Now, let’s add the other platforms owned by Facebook, they have acquired over 50+ companies, but for this article, I am referring to FB Messenger, Instagram and What’s app. At this stage in writing, I’m hoping that you are seeing the potential growth of your business by using these social platforms is limitless. These social marketing tools allow you the benefit of interacting with your customer base and help to cultivate interest. It takes work, investment, and dedication.

Obviously, one social media post does not bring in millions of followers or customers but don’t underestimate the potential of a well-researched, strategical campaign. A marketing campaign must be planned thoroughly, researched, and then strategically executed. One key point to know is that the data gathered from social media sites may vary due to the location and demographics of its audience.

Facebook is still numero uno and why other social networks are on the decline, it is still wise to research. Oh, FYI, if you want a solid Twitter footing then you need to post constantly to stay up-to-date with your customer base as Twitter does not have an algorithm built into its platform like Facebook etc. More work!!

I’m pretty sure that your competition has a growing social media following, maybe it's time to step up!! Remember, a strong social media presence truly helps build brand loyalty and that my friends, is priceless!

See you online!
